As the kitchen coordinator Karen is happy to have the opportunity to serve the Gay Street United Methodist Church and the community.

Karen's family re-located to Knox County from the “deep South”, Athens County, in 2000 when her husband, Jeff, accepted a job transfer. They spent 13 wonderful years in Athens County enjoying the rolling hills and all things OU!  (Go Bobcats). 

     

Jeff and Karen have four children. Their oldest daughter, Amber, lives in Knoxville, TN with her husband and two young sons. Their son, Ian, and daughter, Addie, live and work in Columbus; while Kinsey, the youngest, lives in Fredericktown.

    

Karen enjoys reading, baking, cooking, sewing, crafting, walking and beekeeping! She is active in her parish, St. Paul's Episcopal, serving as a lay minister, Sunday Supper volunteer and Inter-generational Parish Leader. She volunteers weekly at the Escape Zone where she has an opportunity to interact with area teens.

Again, Karen is excited about this opportunity and looks forward to preparing food, joining in fellowship and having lots of fun!
