Children's Music Ministries

"The Faith We Sing"

The children's music ministry of Gay Street United Methodist Church enables the children of the church to share their talents with their church family and sing to the glory of God. The Rainbow Singers (4yrs, kindergarten, & 1st grade) and the Sunbeam Choir (2nd through 5th grades) participate in worship each month during the school year. In addition to monthly responsibilities, the children present a special Christmas service and are responsible for leading the congregation in our annual "Children's Day" service the first Sunday of May.

The team of directors, parents, and helpers try to provide the children with an experience much richer than just learning songs. To instill the responsibility all Christians have to minister to the church family and community is a major goal of the ministry, as well as to educate the participants in the scriptures and tenants of their faith.
