How Important Is It to Bring Your Child to Church?

It’s very important, according to research by the Barna Research Group of Ventura, California (www.barna.org). For three years, they interviewed church people nationwide and reported their findings in 2003.*

Here is what the study revealed:

•A person’s moral foundation is generally in place by

the time he or she reaches the age of 9.

•A majority of Americans make a lasting determination about

the significance of Christ’s death and resurrection by age 12.

•What you believe by the time you are 13 is

 what you will die believing.

•Individuals who will become the church’s leaders 20 years

from now are probably active in church programs today.

After the study, the main researcher said he used to think that the Church’s most important

ministry was that conducted among adults. But after seeing overwhelming evidence that “children are the single most important population group for the Church to focus upon,” he completely changed his priorities.

Our church has children’s ministries that support and help your child just when his or her spiritual maturation process is taking place. But only if you take advantage of them during those critical years. Seeing that your child or grandchild gets to Children@CrossRoads, choir rehearsals, and/or VBS is definitely worth all the effort.
